Alejandro ChristophersEn
the hotel's architect, anno 1898
It is worth mentioning here that the Marcel
has been originally designed by Alejandro Christophersen, one of the best architects Argentina ever had.
Norwegian born, Christophersen came to Buenos aires with his father who was the Norwegian consul, when he was 2 years old.
As the son of a diplomat, he grow up in a priviliged & eclectic environment. As an architect he went for the best.
Few of his many projects have survived, but enough have remained as a testimony of how great a master he was.
